For many centuries, Armenia has been the site of the collision of ancient empires, as it is located at the crossroads of East and West. But the strong spirit of the mountainous people has helped the country not only to survive but also secure political independence.

Hospitality and the culture of Armenia

The indigenous population of Armenia is about three million people. Hospitality and cordiality is in Armenians’ blood. They happily welcome guests from all parts of the world, and proudly tell visitors about the attractions and historical events of their motherland.

Speaking about Armenian culture, it is impossible not to mention its music. Armenian songs are not like musical tunes of other countries. They are distinguished by their special melody, sounding and deep meaning. Transferring texts from one generation to another, Armenians honor their ancestors and preserve their traditions.
Rocky soil and pointed ridges played its role in the development of the country’s architecture. For early buildings it's typical clear lines, monumentality and austerity and for later buildings it's typical decorative elements and domes.
