Jermuk is a mountain spa city in the Vayots Dzor Province (Marz) which is located at 173 km far from Yerevan. It is a popular destination for both Armenians and foreigners for its fresh air, waterfalls, artificial lakes, walking trails, the surrounding forests and mineral water pools. It has a unique climate as it is located 2500-3000 meter above the sea level.
Jermuk has a lot of beautiful tourist attractions. Some of them are waterfall, gallery of waters, ropeway, lake, Gndeavnk monastery, art gallery etc.
During Soviet Union times Jermuk was primarily a spa town and sanatorium, where people mainly getting treated and taking mineral water baths. But now that’s not all, as the city offers activities for people loving active rest as well.
